The Boardman River Restoration project has been an ongoing effort since the dams were decommissioned in 2006. In 2012 Phase I construction was completed with the removal of Brown Bridge Dam. Since that time, design and permitting efforts have culminated in the construction of Phase II of the project with construction of a new Cass Road Bridge, Boardman Dam Removal and the impending removal of Sabin Dam. This presentation will highlight the work completed to date on Phase II, the challenges faced, and the lessons learned.
As the construction project continues to progress and evolve, the presentation will continue to get updated with up-to-the-week photos presented at the conference. Some of the challenges/lessons encountered to date include:
- Construction of the new Cass Road Bridge in 2016
- Change Management on a dam removal and river restoration project
- Engineer’s intent versus Contractor’s understanding
- Recycle/reuse – opportunities and challenges
